Bea grew up in Barcelona and fell in love with drawing when she was a toddler. After obtaining an undergraduate degree in Graphic Design and a Masters in Illustration, Bea moved to Melbourne, Australia in 2019. She draws inspiration from urban culture and enjoys capturing the hidden magic in everyday life. Her illustrations reflect her positive outlook and she often plays with character proportions and composition to enhance the sense of movement.

Using big bold shapes and colourful characters, Bea’s work has a joyous spontaneity that has attracted clients such as Adobe, Airbnb, WeTransfer, Decathlon, CaixaBank, and Pump.

Why is Locker Room Important to you?

I enjoy visualizing topics that are not particularily common or publicized about in the media. Trying to turn the negative connotation of "locker room talk" around and transforming it into something encouraging and positive offers me the chance to dive into topics that are close to home.

How does your job fit into your life - does it feel like a 9-5, or maybe it’s more of a calling?

I work as a digital designer to earn a living and combine it with some freelance illustration gigs. It gives me the right balance between stability and creative exploration.

How can we, both as individuals and as a society, help encourage body positivity?

Don't hide the things that make you unique, celebrate them. The more we see diversity in our surroundings and in the media, the more we embrace the differences that make us who we are. Once we've learned how to accept ourselves, it's that much easier to accept others.
