What does success look like to you?

Being happy. In the end, it doesn’t really matter what you do, what clothes you wear, what car you drive or where you live. It’s taking time out for you, and your loved ones, finding contentment, and finding joy in the little things.

If you had the chance, what’s something you’d like to tell your 16 year-old self?

You can do whatever you set your mind to. Don’t hold back, don’t doubt yourself, you are more than capable and you are more than enough.

How does your job fit into your life - does it feel like a 9-5, or maybe it’s more of a calling?

My job is my life! I love what I do. I know I’m not alone when I say that I need to consciously make an effort to find a healthy balance between work and play, and downtime.

Can you talk us through one of the challenges you’ve faced during your career?

The biggest challenge I faced was getting started! I thought I had missed my chance to have a career in art when I quit my fine arts degree and moved overseas. I held myself back for so long, and didn’t give myself permission to try and be an artist again until after I had 3 kids and had no time at all.  I had been waiting for the right moment for everything to fall into place, for the timing to be right. I finally realised that was never going to happen. I would never have the perfect moment to get started, I just had to do it. It was all up to me and no one else. If you wait for the right moment or the perfect time, you’ll never find it.
